"We had a fun day racing. Although the small turnout, we had excellence competition within us to make this a good practice race and workout especially before the US Wildwater Team Trials.  Geoff, thanks for bringing Ben and Jure up from Potomac.  Lisa and Sean, great job getting back in your boat and racing again after you mishap at the Wagman Bridge rapid.  We could have used another 6" of water to get through this rocky rapid.  Of course we are having the rain now.  The course was originally supposed to go from the Poffenbenger Bridge to Alt. 40 but was shortened.  Because I was the first boat, my time was 27:40 and then adjusted for the short course.  We all enjoyed Easter treats at the awards in Devil's Backbone Park." - Bob Bofinger

Meet for practice runs and pre-race competitors meeting at Funkstown Firehouse parking lot. This will be a Classic race only held between Poffenberger Road and Roxbury Road.  The put in is at the Funkstown Firehouse and the take-out is at Devils Backbone Park.  The Antietam Creek at this upper section is a Class II stream.  Antietam Creek Canoe will provide safety.  Check out their website at www.antietamcreek.com for maps and information.
